Daughters of Africa Resources Center SK Inc.

As a contracted Visual and Web Designer for Daughters of Africa Resources Center SK Inc. (DoARC), I undertook the task of overhauling their brand identity. This encompassed crafting a fresh logo design, revitalizing their website with modern updates, developing comprehensive brand guidelines, and creating print materials to align with the new brand direction.

Goal

Revamp DoARC’s brand to align with the new direction of the organization.

Design Process

Daughters of Africa Resources Center SK Inc. (DoARC) sought a brand revamp that aligns with their organization’s new direction. They desired a contemporary and professional brand that promotes diversity in their membership. Our journey began with a consultation, allowing me to gain a comprehensive understanding of DoARC’s mission and objectives. Additionally, this consultation period fostered a strong rapport with the organization, enabling me to determine the brand’s tone and deliver an enriching project experience. The design stage of this project involved creating sketches and low-fidelity digital prototypes, which were then reviewed by the executive team until the final designs for the logo, website, and brand guidelines were achieved. Since the completion of this redesign, I have been the primary point of contact for DoARC, creating event posters, social media content, and managing website updates.

Implementation

The logo was crafted using Adobe Illustrator, while the brand manual was crafted using Adobe inDesign. As the website was hosted on Joomla, I utilized SP Pagebuilder to develop a responsive and modern website within the predetermined timeframe.
